Great Basin

Inspiration

My inspiration for Great Basin was that I wanted to test out how well sampling would work from the microphone I use for production. I started by taking random items in my immediate vicinity and used them as samples. Some of the items I used include a:

• tin lid

• Hydroflask

• fan

• container filled with rice

The Trumpet Part

The trumpet part was one of the most fun licks I have gotten to perform. I sat around with my trumpet and played licks until one that I really liked got to stick. I plan on playing more trumpet on upcoming pieces, especially after working on Cold Contact.

Future for Great Basin

After releasing Crater Lake, I realized that I wanted to create an EP of some of the most influential National Parks I have gotten to visit in my life. I'm currently creating two more tracks, which will compose the rest of the National Parks EP.
